Sheikh Abdel Tawab graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, Ain Shams University, and learned to recite Qur’an from his father, Sheikh Abdel Tawab.
Mahmoud was a disciple of veteran chanters and reciters like Sheikh Naqshbandi and Nasr al-Din Tobar.
Founded by Mahmoud Abdel-Tawab in 2019, Ahbab Ensemble for Religious Chanting, features 15 religious singers in addition to the choir, all of whom are graduates of the Institute of Arab Music. The ensemble held recurring concerts at El-Sawy Culturewheel, Cairo Opera House, and the Arab Music Institute, to revive the religious and mystical artistic heritage.
